Around the world in 1956
Armed with his trusty Leica M2, F2 lens and Kodachrome (ASA 10!) color slide film, my father composed the photographs. I, light meter in hand, called out the exposures and my mother told my father what to shoot. The result is a remarkable collection of images that chronicle the adventure as the world appeared to this family half a century ago.
A technical note: The slides had suffered considerable degradation over the years. They were digitized using a Nikon Coolscan V. The images were then restored using Photoshop Elements to remove scratches, mold on the emulsion, and to brighten the colors that had faded over time.
